Whilst sitting in the living room this evening Simon pointed something out to me which I thought might be interesting to share. On our coffee table which is actually a wooden box inherited from a friend is the dish of doom (inherited from the same friend) which we keep ‘stuff’ in until it fills up and we have to put it away
By the end of a busy week its kinda full of junk ready for the grand weekend housework session, but in this state it describes our family rather well and anyone who knows us will probably recognise each element of the group!
A selection TV and DVD remotes (although we can still never find the one we need at the right time!), my mums pin cushion, a set of covered buttons still to be made up (what’s that I hear you cry, a half finished project in the Key household???? Never!!), a yoga band for foot strengthening exercises (Bernard will be up on her points by Christmas!),a silk British Legion Poppy, a sock pig made for our Scottish babies, but not yet sent to Aberdeen, tissues – ‘cos this bloody cold wont go away! and 2 books – ‘Fighting in Spain’ by George Orwell and ‘ A day in the life of Ivan Denisovich’ by Alexander Solzhenitsyn. So my life and my darling, slightly odd, a bit demented, but ultimately lovely loony family all in one dish!!!
I wonder what will be in it this time next week!!!!
