Ok so, having read various other peoples versions I was convinced to have a go and see what came up on mine.
A warning to you all now – I have an eclectic taste in music so it may look and sound kinda odd. I’ll tag some of you so you can have a go as well (I’m going to tag Pretaboire – I’m intrigued to see who similar they will be)
So First up
Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Give it Away
Believe it or not – one of the few tracks that would soothe Splosh to sleep when he was little – although it equally worked for Bernard as well.
Bowling for Soup – Come back to Texas
Another reminder of my babies – I believe it’s a favourite of theirs too and a common tune to sing along to in the car. Bernards first proper ‘gig’ was to see them, Splosh took her for her birthday.
Glenn Miller – Yes my Darling Daughter
A fab tune to dance too! Pretaboire and I love 40’s dance evenings although we’re no Fred and Ginger! Can’t help but tap my feet when its on!
Sharon Shannon Galway Girl
Yes I watched PS I Love you, and when you can get past his very dodgy Irish accent it’s an awesome chic flick!
New Model Army – Lovesongs
My youth! Many a happy time, tribe of friends, leather jacket and a mohawk haircut! A track by this band was playing the first time I met Pretaboire. I wonder if I can get away with that haircut again!!
Just out of interest I checked what would have come next, although I already have my 5, but I wanted to mention that one that came up. There isn’t a you tube version of this arrangement – the CD was realised to raise money for a charity project in Ireland so no one has entered a video for it! I found a different arrangement so you can here the tune HERE. The reason I love my version so much is because the fiddle player is my darling Irish baby (Splosh’s girlfriend) A truly awesome talent with a violin and a truly awesome person! It makes me cry every time I hear it, it’s so beautiful!
So – whats on yours? I’ll tag some people, but if I haven’t feel free to join in anyway! Can’t wait to here your tunes!!!!
