How my garden grows is all about one flower this week, and it’s in honour of my darling mum!
When mum passed away Dad rather let the garden go, other than cutting the grass. It never gave him the same joy and I think actually caused him pain to be there, because she wasn’t and it was very much her domain.
When he moved out of the family home I rescue everything I could including, her patio roses.
It was rather over looked behind our shed for a couple of years and remained just a stump and some spindly twigs, but last summer my mother in law pruned it back almost to the ground and we willed it to grow!
It worked, and now may garden is full of the scent of my mums roses and it is laden with buds which will keep us going all summer!
And the bear – well Splosh was with Mum and Dad when Bernard was born and they bought the bear as a reminder of that day, so it had to stay with Mums rose of course!
