You see I have this friend, we’ll call her K. She is a very lovely lady and plays a huge part in our lives. She is very dear to my children, they have known her pretty much for ever and in turn her babies (Beans and Missie May) are very dear to us.
My regular Friday catch ups are often the highlight of my week and Beans is always pleased to have Sploshy home from Scotland – usually for dinosaur hunting and tree climbing.
Well it’s her birthday and we wanted to get her something, but being short of cash we struggled to come up with something, until inspiration and plotting with her beloved Mr T we came up with an answer!
You see our K is obsessed with her garden, having spent the last few months rebuilding it after dismantling the outhouse we decided that something for outside had to be the way to go! So we stole the rather tired and elderly bench from her garden
And using nothing more than our cunning and guile, well….. sandpaper, a wire brush, some paint we had in the shed and a new set of paint brushes… We gave new life to it, and hopefully gave her somewhere to sit and admire her handy work.
A recycled, upcycled, garden bench!
Happy Birthday K! Thank you for being lovely and thank you for letting me borrow your babies! – I know where to come to if ever I loose my car keys!
