Festival fake tails

August 9, 2013

It seems the in thing to wear at music festivals this summer is the tail!

Be it a dinosaur, tiger or devil, anyone who is anyone is wearing some dangling out of the back of their trousers! – and no that’s not rude thank you!

So having had a discussion with the most wonderful Mammasaurus about her epic trip to Camp Bestival we thought we’d make some – and send them to her lovely babies – cos they is so cute!

And give that it was pretty easy and a good way to use up scraps of fabric and leftovers, we might even make some more!

And in case you want to have a go yourself – we made a video of how to do it!

Enjoy! And I hope the sun shines on your festival camp site!

These look great. Such a fun little dressing up item, or great for costume parties.
And I love that you made a video of your tutorial, so much more fun to watch a tutorial with a bit of music! And I liked the built in tea break!!! x

If you notice the change in cups – it’s looks like I did nothing but drink tea all the time I was sewing – which is probably true to be honest!

AMAZING STUFF! Love it, may even try it as my girl was desperate to buy one from the Tell Tails store but she had spent all her money! Love the idea of a cheap pillow for stuffing 🙂

It’s so much cheaper than buying toy stuffing – and fire retardant and non toxic!

Fab. We’re off to Just So Festival this weekend and in need of some lion parts. Although this dino tail is seriously swinging and we’ve been having a bit of a dinosaur moment at ours of late. Thanks for the tutorial!

I love that you created the pattern yourself and solved the problem of finding a tail!! Wonderful – creativity at it’s best.
