Festival fashion has always been different to the high street to a certain extent, more relaxed, usually more extreme and always more colourful and fun!
Loud and flowery wellies to deal with the never ending rain or a British summer, the chance to hunt through a charity shop for something so obscure that you could only get away with it in a field in Somerset. It is a rare chance for a grown up to get away with wearing fairy wings, and this year it appears to be fake tails.
Watching the changing face of festival fashion seems to be a history or music too, and until I looked at it I hadn’t realised how close the link and memory between clothes and music were!
Prog rock and floaty dresses and flowers in their hair, rave and the smiley face on everyone’s shirt, punk and everything with ripped or with a union jack on it! Music seems to come with a uniform to fit!
Which ever festival you go to this year, I hope the sun shines, the music is good and the beer/cider cold! Enjoy – we’ll be planning Christmas soon!!
