Our lovely little house has some very beautiful floors. Not modern laminate, but proper polished wood floor boards ( although they are going to need sanding and re varnishing this summer) and we are in debate as a family as to whether we should have somerugs or not!
As the predominant ‘hooverer’ in the house I like the lack of carpet! A quick sweep with the broom and all the cat fluff is gone – carpets lead to more effort, spills more difficult to get rid of etc….
But there are so many beautiful designs around, with very plain walls and furniture, the right rug can almost be a piece of art – and everyone likes something cosy under foot come the winter
Nothing really beats the classic Persian style pattern does it?
But would I be tempted to spend all day sitting on it, pretending to be Aladdin and singing (badly) soppy Disney songs
So maybe something a bit different, out of the ordinary – like us really! Well as a family we have done a lot of historical re enactment, and so maybe something castle like?
But as Bernard has just pointed out to me, there would be the temptation to pretend it was a moving ice flow and spend the day behaving like children jumping from block to block and not touching the ‘water’
So we have sat and browsed the web and have come to the conclusion, that if we had the money, there is only one choice. Something colourful, modern and generally very beautiful
I just love it! So if anyone is wondering what to get us for Christmas….???
