I love where we live. We may not have towering mountains. or beautiful seascapes to look at close by, but “Constable Country” has it’s own beauty and we love it!
So the suggestion of a birthday walk with Holly dog and G’ma seemed a good opportunity to test drive new winter boots from Hotter Shoes and when this is the view from the living room window, we can see we don’t need to go far to appreciate the beauty and open space!
G’ma has the stylish Mystery boots in black and Bernard has the Trek boot in Cherryberry.
Sadly Holly dog doesn’t have a pair, but wanted to be in the photo’s anyway!
The weather at the weekend wasn’t perfect for walking, but the torrential rain we’d had all morning held for an hour so we could really stretch our legs before we sat down for yummy birthday cake! So off out of the gate and towards the Church at Higham we went!
There is something very peaceful about this part of Suffolk, once you get off the road there is little if any noise, and walking away from Dedham means that you avoid the usual crowds of tourists and we can really enjoy our little corner of the county!
And of course a good walk always starts with good boots! And so they tell me – these are good boots!, cushioned soles, supportive bed, good colour, style and excellent design and in the case of the Gortex layer in Bernard’s – waterproof and breathable!
G’ma had a similar pair of Hotter many years ago and swears blind her feet remember how comfortable they were and are just as happy in her new ones! They have become a staple of her winter wardrobe and I’m sure will see much for the Dedham vale before the spring comes round!
Bernard is enjoying her warm dry feet not only walking with G’ma at the weekends, but on her daily trek to college, and given what they are telling us about the coming winter weather – the boots are in for a good test drive in the next couple of months!
I have to admit to some serious jealously, the Trek boots also come in a rather lovely shade of purple and I’m hopeful if I drop enough hints maybe Father Christmas will bring me a pair!

We were sent the Hotter boots to review, but the words and opinions are all our own!
I blogged about a walk in Constable Country a few months ago – we had a fabulous time, though my boots ended up caked in dog poo!
Rather like your daughter’s cherry-coloured boots: really cool.

There is nothing more British than an autumnal walk. And those shoes look cute and comfy – I’ve never hear of them but need to check them out. x
Hope you had a great birthday. The boots look fab. Fingers crossed that you’ve been a good girl this year and that Father Christmas brings you all that you ask for 🙂

Fantastic blog, and great boots!
I grew up around that neck of the woods and my mum still lives in nearby Stratford St Mary. I’m now living in Yorkshire but love a walk across the vale and a go on the boats when I’m visiting home 🙂
