It's dark and cold outside and with grey skies overhead there are always thoughts of finding some winter sun. Somewhere people can top up the vitamin D warmth people crave so much at this time of year. Although I have to say - I'm not one of those people! The thought of a beach holiday rather fills me with dread, I'm not very good at the sitting around doing nothing and I can think of so many more interesting ways to spend holiday time. I'd always rather be too cold than too hot - cold crisp winter sun, maybe sone snow, beautiful views or architecture and plenty of things to entertain my … [Read more...]

Beautifully tasteless things
This is my first time linking up with Magpie Monday, but the purchases made yesterday were just too good not to share! I was spending the day with my old chum Sewlovecraft whilst Bernard had her first university interview (but that is her story for another day!) So to kill time while we waiting for the little ones to finish school and Bernard's train to get her back to use, we went for a charity shop hunt round sunny Bedford! And here is my new kitchen favourite - the most wonderfully, tasteless and oddly decorated pie dish! I can only imagine why you'd … [Read more...]

How to grow your own feminist
I didn't go to Blogfest, I don't know what was said. I do know friends whom I love dearly were upset and made to feel unworthy, which makes me very cross. So having written and pondered and re written and deleted my thoughts not to publish them but to clear my head and organise my thoughts as I often do, I found this in my inbox last night, with a little note "Mumisckles, would you post this on your blog for me?" So in the words of my darling boy here's to equality and choice! (written by someone brought up by a stay at home, uneducated mummy!) Step 1) Don't. Step 2) Bare … [Read more...]

When a customer waits patiently for you to finish a conversation with your friend - don't tut that they have finally had to butt in to an animated discussion about the weekends X factor results! Don't then compound it all by huffing your way round the shop like a stroppy teenager when the customer asks you to show them where something … [Read more...]
The best budget-friendly cars for students
Heading to university often means moving to a new city - and for many students, this will require them to buy a new car. All the latest motors can be found here, meaning it is a great place to begin their search. We all know the financial constraints students are under nowadays, so it is important they find a model that doesn't break the bank.
