My late entry to this weeks Ranty Friday
Dear High Street salesperson,
Do you ever wonder why people do more and more of their shopping on online? It’s because you are rude, unhelpful and frankly unpleasant to deal with!
When a customer waits patiently for you to finish a conversation with your friend – don’t tut that they have finally had to butt in to an animated discussion about the weekends X factor results! Don’t then compound it all by huffing your way round the shop like a stroppy teenager when the customer asks you to show them where something is!
When a customer asks if have a particular size in stock, remembering that your shelving states the item does come in that size, don’t sigh, raise your eyebrows and tell them the goods don’t come in that size!
And certainly if the customer points out that the shelf says it does, huff and cross your arms as though your mum has asked you to tidy your bedroom !
You are paid solely to provide a service – so earn your wages – provide that service – or more and more people will shop online – and then you won’t have a job!
A seriously ticked off customer
It would have been nice to be able to say that this experience was from just one store, sadly however, I have visited 5 high street stores today – and I received this level of service on 4 of them!
