It’s dark and cold outside and with grey skies overhead there are always thoughts of finding some winter sun.
Somewhere people can top up the vitamin D warmth people crave so much at this time of year. Although I have to say – I’m not one of those people!
The thought of a beach holiday rather fills me with dread, I’m not very good at the sitting around doing nothing and I can think of so many more interesting ways to spend holiday time. I’d always rather be too cold than too hot – cold crisp winter sun, maybe sone snow, beautiful views or architecture and plenty of things to entertain my brain,At this time of year I’d rather take a city break, maybe some shopping time and the chance to see other peoples Christmas lights and enjoy their festive cheer.
With flights to New York being so regular, a long weekend trip is a real possibility. Maybe this is the year I’ll fly away for the perfect trip, to buy some wonderful presents for my family and friends. I’ll drink coffee in the Village and write you all a blog post from there! Iceskating at the Roackafeller centre maybe, craft markets in Union Square. And to top it off a crisp evening trip to the top of the Empire State and watch the city from above. Museums, art galleries and a grand scale musical on Broadway.
Or maybe to the mountains of the Pacific North West. Shopping in Pioneer Square Seattle, enjoying the view and a wonderful meal from Paradise Inn at Mount Rainier. And of course a game of Up the River Down the River round my favourite dinner table in Greenwater.
I’ve tortured myself enough for this evening, I’m off to pour over google images of beautiful places and old holiday pictures – maybe next year……………..
