I’ve not used a cook book this week! I’ve used an old scrap of paper torn from a magazine goodness knows how many years ago! Yellowing with age and crumbled round the edges.
I have no idea when or where I found it, but it obviously appealed and I’ve kept it ready for this opportunity!
So – Pesto and Parmesan bread it is then!
Not too tricky – reasonably simple – basic white bread recipe with a swirl of pesto through the centre and a Parmesan crust on the top. I’m not sure I took it for the quantity measurements but rather than for the taste combination – which is a tried and tested favourite with me and Bernard!
Luckily Mr Waitrose was reducing the price of some very nice cheese last week, so we had the good stuff for the bake – and red pesto rather than green, I’ve always preferred the taste of red and given that there was some in the fridge…well why not!
You know one day I’ll read a recipe and stick to it completely……hahahaha.
I can report it tastes divine! And the whole house smells wonderful!
It’s light and airy with a good crust…but….. the crust as you can see has completely come away from the inside! So peeps – why is this, does anyone have the answer… I can only imagine how mean Mr Hollywood would be about it!
So what did everyone else make this week?
