I think one of my biggest regrets in my babies growing up is the loss of bedtime stories. That special time at the end of a busy day all tucked up on the sofa of the end of their bed reading stories. It’s a very special time for all concerned and our old favourites were read over and over again! In fact read so often that even now 15 years later I can still quote most of “Each Peach Pear Plum”, “Monday Runday”, “The Red Witch” and “One Bear, One Dog” We laughed along with the Large family as mum tried to get “Five minutes peace” and trembled with Eddie when he lost his teddy.
With World book day coming up on the 6th March, The Works are giving you opportunity to stock up on Children’s books with a very tempting offer. The chance to expand your playroom library without breaking the bank. And while I don’t have little ones to read stories to anymore I will certainly be stocking up for birthday present for little friends and maybe even lay down a stock of titles in case I ever get to be a grandma.
In fact the whole website is a treasure trove of special deals and bargains….. I may end up with a much bigger order than I imagined!
What do you mean I don’t need anymore craft materials, notebooks or embroidery thread ? Of course I need those things – there is a tiny storage space under the kitchen sink that I can fill with lovely stuff!
I’m off to browse the aisles of online goodness.
But before I go – what is your favourite children’s book ? – either that you remember from your youth or that you read to your babies. Can we make suggestions for everyone else’s reading list.
