I can knit! Simple things, like blanket squares, christmas elves and scarves – but nothing too complex and I’ve never master knitting on double ended needles, so when I saw this hat I knew it was going to be a job for the one and only G’ma A – the family knitting expert
The perfect opportunity to test her skills came when the very wonderful people at Bergere de France sent us some of their new yarn to try out! If you knit or crochet then it’s well worth a visit to their web site, they have some amazing yarns, and some beautiful patterns. If you can’t find me at anytime – that’s where I’ll be – choosing more things to make!
Look what she came up with!
Just beautiful! And she says very lovely to knit with. The blue is a wool and hemp mix, smooth and supple to work with whilst the pink , a cotton and linen mix, is a little harder on the needles being a hemp mix which gives a nice clean edge for the hat.
It helps to have such a beautiful model of course! But that’s my master piece – although I guess G’ma has some input in that too!
We have quite a bit of the pink left which mum is hoping to turn into a camisole with a lacy feel for her favourite granddaughter ! So pictures and post to follow!
Do any of you creative types have a good pattern for her to try?
We were sent the yarn by Bergere de France to review, all opinions are our own
