I know lots of other people consider their holiday plans from the moment they get home from the previous one, but I’m a last minute kinda girl! So now the the weather is cheering up and everyone is in summer mode, my thoughts turn to dream holidays! realistically with Bernard off to university this autumn and Splosh and Irish Baby just moving into their new home, this summer will probably consist of packing, shopping for student accommodation and helping my Scottish lovelies to find furniture and making curtains for the new flat!
But it doesn’t stopping me planing in my head – where would I go, a long deserted beach, the wild of rugged mountains or a new city to explore – museums, galleries and interesting building to wander round….. such a tough call.
Badger would never go for the beach option – he really isn’t a baywatch kinda guy, low boredom threshold means we need things to do. We’ve done lots of mountain holidays, Scotland has always been a go to option with our family living there, so maybe a city to explore? We’ve already talked in a previous post about going to visit the historic sights of the Ukraine, but what just getting on a flight to New York a weekend in the big apple exploring, the theatre, central park and be a real tourist! Or hoping a ferry to Amsterdam, Anne Franks house and all the canals you could ever need. If we had more time (and money) of course it would have to be New Zealand – off to visit all those friends we haven’t seen for years, to see the places they have spoken of so many times and really get to visit Middle Earth.
There is hope that maybe next year we’ll get to the west coast of the USA for our anniversary – 25 years married!!! So off to see my brother and show Badger the amazing sights of Seattle, the beauty of Mount Rainier and the pacific north west coast… hang on thats all dream destinations covered? Right time to start saving!
I wonder how much I can sell the children for?
