There’s a very lovely meme doing the rounds at the moment and the equally lovely Mummy Central has tagged me – so here goes – what am I doing now?
Currently I am: Waiting for my girlie to get home from dancing so we can have dinner! I’m bloody starving! But also on a longer term note, making a complete set of tudor clothing for a friend, busy busy busy making Elsa costumes for lovely blogging chums and enjoying being creative!
Reading: Bill Bryson – At Home. I love his books, easy to read, always interesting and usually funny. This one is the story of the house – how it changes through history and how we got to where we are. Well worth a read.
Listening to: Caro Emerald, she has the most beautiful voice and it’s impossible not to tap your foot or just get up and dance!
Laughing at: Trashy Australian Tv programmes with Bernard – so hard to take teen drama seriously when the acting is sooooo bad!
Swooning over: Oh god – how can I say this without causing offence at home and having to sleep in the doghouse? Well James MacAvoy is very cute although I think I’m old enough to be his mother so that’s probably a bit wrong .But I’ll always have a soft spot for Huge Jackman – I mean who doesn’t!
Planning: Our last summer with a baby living at home (sobs) Lots of fun things to do to fill our long holidays and give her lots of happy memories to take away to University.
Eating lots of: Healthy food! I’m trying very hard to get fit and loose weight so no chocolate or sweeties and things that will shift those pounds!
Feeling: Apprehensive about having an empty nest, I know this is totally what she wants to do and she will be awesome, but it’s a huge step to no longer have babies in the house, the last 23 years of my life seems to have sped past and I want to have another go at it!
Discovering: That people I only ever met on line can become real actual friends. That they are very beautiful people and always there when you need a shoulder to lean on! Blogging really can be a community and I love being a part of it!
Looking at: A grand overseas trip for me and Badger next year. It will be our 25th wedding anniversary and it would be amazing to celebrate it with something special. Not sure it will come off, but the planning is half the fun to be honest!
Wearing: excuse the captials – CLOTHES THAT HAVEN’T FITTED FOR YEARS – ‘COS LOSING WEIGHT IS WORKING!!!!!! Can you tell I’m excited?
Cooking: Spinach and ricotta cannelloni – total favourite of mine and Bernards – bloody love it!
Wondering: Whether continuing with a history degree is the best way forward of whether I should change and study something else? I quite fancy creative writing – but not sure it will be as useful as history.
Trying Out: A gym membership. I’m not a great one for public exercise but I do need to be fit, without being shouted at by a teenager in shorts or made to feel like a fat old woman. Luckily we have an excellent council run leisure centre close to home who run excellent classes – turns out Zumba is kinda fun – next to actually go to the scary room with gym equipment and not fall off the crosse trainer like a total twit and make a fool of myself – maybe next week!
So that is my little world right now! not terribly thrilling but I like it.
So I’m going to tag – Being mrs C, Dorky Mum, and Marisworld – go on over and see what they’re up to!

Love this brain twin! I adore Bill Bryson and cannelloni – but thats no surprise! Am hopeless at sewing though, will leave that to you! I love planning adventures too – we are aiming to get to New York for my OHs 50th birthday in 18 months, and I quite agree the thinking about it is half the fun!

Thank you, hadn’t heard of Caro Emerald before but am now bopping away on my office chair!! Congratulations on the weight loss, keep it going. I’d love to try Zumba as dancing is so much more fun than going into the gym. Have a lovely day x

I failed miserably at Slimming World – I guess it’s a case of different strokes for different folks. And I’m too ashamed to go back to my leisure centre gym after joining, going once, then cancelling my membership after 3 months. Going to have to be lots of walking and outdoor exercise for me.
