There’s no avoiding it all now, it’s officially December so everyone can start putting up their trees & decorations….unless you have already of course, in which case, there’s no hope for you!
So if you live near me, in Sunny Colchester that is, what can you do to foster that festive feeling? Where can you over dose on tinsel and relish in the joy that is this season?
Well I’ve put together a list of things to do & see in the area, so go ahead, fill your boots and enjoy – but maybe spare a thought for others. If you’re in town, be nice, don’t shove or shout, everyone else is as stressed as you are, ad make sure you put something into the charity box – not everyone will have as much cheer as you!
Bourne Valley Crafters Christmas fair an excellent opportunity to buy some amazing presents from very talented local crafts people, me included! 6th December – come along and have a cuppa & a piece of yummy cake whilst you browse the wears available
Castle open evening & Christmas market An opportunity to have a look around our heritage centre piece. Open until 8.30 look around the wonderful sights within and do a bit of Christmas shopping.
Breakfast with Santa at Colchester Zoo something yummy to eat, a gift and trip to the grotto and to meet the man himself and his reindeer. Available on various mornings on the run to the big day, booking is required, but I imagine well worth visit.
Ardleigh Craft & Gift Fair, 6th December, Ardleigh Village hall 10am to 3pm. A chance to buy a present for that special someone!
Dedham Christmas Fayre, 3pm to 6pm with lots of different stalls including hot food available. The shops in the high street will also be open, including the St Helena Hospice shop – where our very wonderful G’ma A is a volunteer!
Colchester Christmas Fayre, A rare chance to visit the high street without having to avoid the traffic and opportunity to catch some good luck from the Mayor!
Please do come and do your Christmas shopping in Colchester, even if you can’t make it to one of the events I’ve mentioned, there are a wealth of shops to choose from and plenty of good places for a good cuppa when you need a break!
Do you know of any other good events we can add to the list? Please do let us know in a comment ad we’ll edit the post as we go!
