So it’s December, the month of lists.
Lists to Father Christmas for our presents
Lists of food we need to cook in advance of the big day
Lists of presents we need to buy for other people
Christmas card lists
Lists of things we forgot to put on other lists
And the list of lists so we don’t forget to check things of the first list which is cross referenced to the second and third list……. Aaarrrggggghhhhhhhh!
Sorry, calm moment….deep breath…..and exhale.
Christmas doesn’t have to be like this, it should be a fun time to spend with family, enjoying good company and relaxing with time away from work. So lets all be organised without feeling as though we are planning the Normandy invasion. There are a million and one places will give you the definitive organisational schemes and plan, people who will tell you the best way to get everything right. But do you really need it?
Life doesn’t need to be that hectic! Slow down and chill out.
Life won’t come to an end because the crackers don’t match the tablecloth or the stuffing came out of a packet rather than being homemade – it’s just stuffing and they’re just crackers!
Save your self as much of the stress as you can, order your groceries on line -Christmas slots are now available for most of the major supermarkets! share the work load with your family – it’s their Christmas too! Order your wine by post – kick back and relax with a glass of something fruity and red or chilled and white in front of the tree.
What the hell live dangerously, have a piece of cake of a mince pie as well – after all your hard work I think you deserve it!
