It’s Sonya’s turn to host this week, and so it’s treasures that fit in the palm of my hand!
This series of posts has made me realise that as a family we are dangerously close to be hoarders! there is just too much to choose from, maybe I should do this de cluttering doodad everyone is talking about! But then everything is special so maybe not….. oh god I am a hoarder aren’t I?
My mums thread counter. A strange little thing, given to her by her floor manager at Harrods when she worked there in the early 1950’s. With this she could check the thread count on the fabrics she was selling in “ladies clothing” As child it’s main use was for the removal of splinters from small fingers!
The bathroom gargoyle! I’m not completely sure where this little dude came from, but he has lived in the house for a long long time! And for now he sits on the shelf in the bathroom and watches over the essentials of life! Maybe he should have a name – any suggestions?
A very precious antique! Well not really antique as such but about 22 years old. Made by my beautiful boy as a toddler (with the help of his cousins Pootle, Chuckie & Dumpling) We spent many happy summer days when they were little at Colchester Castle. There were always craft activities and things to join in with and this Roman lamp was one of the first things he made! It’s never been fired, is a little chipped round the edges and a little wonky – but a memory of very happy times with my big sister, when our babies were small, a very long time ago now!
So hop on over to see Sonya and link up – show us your tiny treasures!
